South District News
Posted on March 13, 2006
The following was reported by Peter Heim, the St. Thomas More coach.
This was the first of three non-district games played in Lafayette by host St. Thomas More. This was also the first ever high school game played in Louisiana outside of New Orleans or Shreveport. We played 30 min running time for each half as agree by the coach’s before each game. Our attendance for each game was over 300 fans. Game two was won by Evangel over Jesuit of New Orleans 20-3 and game 3 was won by Jesuit over STM 7-4. Rob Wyman came in from New Orleans and helped teach the game along with having to ref the games.
I just wanted you to know that the day was a great success for the spreading of Lacrosse throughout Louisiana and the South. We had TV coverage for all three games.
St. Thomas More is hosting Kingwood, Byrd and Jesuit-New Orleans this Saturday 3-18.
Thanks to the THSLL for helping Saint Thomas More High Lacrosse get off the ground.
