Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse - Youth Head Coaches Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse Association is seeking 2 boys youth lacrosse coaches for the 2023 Spring and Fall seasons. We are seeking energetic coaches with a strong knowledge of lacrosse, skill development, and coaching techniques as well as a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire young athletes. In particular, we are looking for a candidate that is positive minded and encouraging that can serve as a role model.

Founded in 2009 with a team of 20 boys, Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse has grown to over 150 boys and girls, grades K thru 12. Serving the greater Fort Worth area as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse is committed to providing an opportunity for all youth to experience, learn, and play the great game of lacrosse. Our goal is to give each athlete the opportunity to play, enjoy and excel to the best growth and development of their stage of the game. The city of Fort Worth (population 892,000) is home to the Panther City Lacrosse Club from the NLL, the only professional lacrosse franchise in the state of Texas. This has driven a significant interest in lacrosse in the city and an opportunity to grow the youth program. We feel strongly that there is a significant opportunity to wake a sleeping giant of lacrosse here with the right coaches. The Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse board is committed to supporting our coaches and providing all the resources necessary.

Positions available: 2 Head Coach positions 5/6th grade Head Coach 7/8th grade Head Coach Essential Functions: Represent the Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse program and the sport of lacrosse in a positive and respectful manner at any and all events and gatherings. Act as a role model and foster an environment of respect, tolerance, integrity, and sportsmanship. Be prepared and punctual for all coaching responsibilities. Manage game day logistics: lineups, substitutions, strategy. Develop and implement daily practice plans to effectively motivate and train athletes. Work with boys program director and other youth coaches to ensure consistent methodology across youth teams.

Appointment: Annual (2022-2023) contingent upon renewal Spring program: beginning in early January 2023 and ends late April 2023 (approximately 3-4 events per week) Fall program: mid-September 2023 to November 2023 (1-2 events per week on weekend). Practice and 1-2 tournaments and/or scrimmages.

Qualifications & Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain professional, positive, and respectful relationships with players, other coaches, officials, parents, and members of the club's board. Willing and able to coach within an overall system to ensure players are ready for the next level within the program. Remain aware of all legal liabilities related to all athletic activities and ensure a safe environment for all athletes.

Plano East Lacrosse Association Varsity Defensive Coordinator Available Sept 2022 - May 2023

Plano East Lacrosse serves the Plano, Murphy and Wylie area and is seeking an experienced High School Defensive Coordinator.

The Woodlands Men’s High School Lacrosse Club Board of Directors is seeking committed coaches for Varsity and JV programs.
 
Coaches are expected to be active with the program in the fall and spring. There are also summer coaching opportunities available. 
 
We will select individuals whose coaching philosophy and style are aligned with our focus on personal growth and development for our student-athletes and support the progression of the lacrosse program and committed to growing the game. Canyon High School, located in New Braunfels, is looking for an Offensive Coordinator/Assistant Coach to help with both the boys' and girls' programs.  This coaching position is tied to a full-time teaching position.  Specific duties on top of teaching would include daily practices, weekly/bi-weekly games, and seasonal tournaments. The candidate would have direct responsibility and supervision for the varsity practices, and games.  This will be a paid position with benefits.

Fort Worth Country Day Lacrosse

Fort Worth Country Day’s Athletic Department is seeking several seasonal coaches for the 2022-2023 school year. Reporting directly to the Program Directors and also to the Director of Athletics, the seasonal coaches must model integrity, have a strong work ethic, and be fully committed to the growth and development of our student-athletes

Boys Lacrosse Assistant Coach - High School

  • May include serving as the Head JV Lacrosse coach, depending on numbers.
  • The school participates in both Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) Class C and the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC).
  • Playing experience beyond high school and experience coaching at the high school level is preferred.
  • The season begins in early February and goes through late April/early May.
  • Practices are scheduled from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm during the week with JV and Varsity. Number of games may vary each week. School provides transportation to all away games via team bus or charter bus.
  • Coaches are expected to be at practice 30 minutes before practices and a half hour before games.
  • There will be some weekends that are required to play games.
  • Will be traveling outside of the DFW metroplex to play games and will also have some overnight trips to play other teams in Texas.
  • Duties include: running drills effectively, keeping players focused at practice, run the substitution box effectively at games, breaking down game film and assist in scouting and game-planning.

Boys Lacrosse Assistant Coach - Middle School 7th/8th Grade

  • Program looking to add another coach to assist with the middle school team(s)
  • The school participates in the Dallas Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse. 
  • Playing experience beyond high school and experience coaching  level is preferred.
  • The season begins in early February and goes through late April.
  • Practices are scheduled from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm during the week with one to two games a week.
  • School provides transportation for all away games via team bus.
  • Coaches are expected to be at practice 30 minutes before practices and a half hour before games
  • Saturdays will be used to play games.
  • No lacrosse on Sundays unless it is mandatory by the league. 
  • Duties include: running drills effectively, developing players so that they will be prepared for high school level, run the substitution box effectively at games, and possibly coach one of the teams, if numbers are provided to split into two teams.

About the Program

In its second full season, the Varsity team went 9-3 (4-0) and expanded to include a JV roster. With two MS teams, the program reached 60+ athletes and is continuing to grow. The team looks to build on its success and will be returning all but one graduating senior.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coach the Varsity team (Full squad practices run M-FR 4:30-6:15 from Jan-May, in-season games on weekends, with additional off-season commitments).
  • Work with the Director of Athletics to lead the program under a Christian-based system of values, prioritizing character and team development.
  • Schedule practices, games, and communicate with the Parent Board to coordinate game-day volunteers and events.
  • Facilitate growth in MS/HS programs by hiring and guiding qualified coaches to ensure high retention and skill development of players throughout the program.
  • Coordinate with the Parent Board to responsibly budget the program’s costs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as HS Varsity coach/Program Director.
  • Experience as a college lacrosse player
  • High level of knowledge about the game, skill development, and how to foster a team-centric environment.
  • Plus: Experience in Teaching at the High School level; for a potential full-time teaching position at Hyde Park High School

George Ranch High School Lacrosse Club Assistant Coach Position

The George Ranch High School Lacrosse Club (www.grhslacrosse.org), is looking for an energetic coach with a strong lacrosse background who wants to teach and mentor young athletes.

George Ranch is a diverse public high school in Fort Bend County with an enrollment of 2,700 students.  In 2019 the club’s varsity team finished with a 15-3 record, had 7 All-District and 2 Honorable Mention player selections, and sent 5 seniors on to play lacrosse at the collegiate level.  The club has a very engaged parent board and support of the school and school district.  

The assistant coach is responsible for supporting the program in all aspects of the development of the team including: practice planning, implementation of game strategies, recruiting players, team management during practices, scrimmages and games.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed to develop and maintain positive respectful relationships with student-athletes
  • College lacrosse experience as player (NCAA Division I/II/III) is preferred
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Strong leadership presence and presentation skills to motivate high school student-athletes

Hyde Park Schools 5th, 6th Grade Head Lacrosse Coach

This is a part time, stipend position with Hyde Park Schools.  We are seeking a candidate that has a passion for working with young people.  Candidate should be reliable, active, fun, engaging, and patient.  Coaches should understand that the expectation is that the athlete’s experience must align with the Hyde Park mission statement and core values.  The spring season runs from February through April.  Practices will be at the Quarries campus Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00-11:30am.  Game schedule is TBD, but games should fall on the weekend.

Assistant Lacrosse Coach Positions (Boys + Girls)

average of 6 hours/week

New Horizons Lacrosse (NHL) is seeking 2 (former or current) high school or collegiate lacrosse players to serve as assistant coaches for the 2019-2020 middle school lacrosse season! NHL is a local organization dedicated to growing the sport of lacrosse among underserved youth communities in the greater Austin area.

Responsibilities

This assistant coach position will involve teaching lacrosse to a group of 15-20 middle school students at a Title I middle school in East Austin. Assistant coaches will have the support of head coaches as well as of NHL leadership to help create practice plans and programming, leading up to participation in local tournaments and games. Practices will be held twice each week at East Austin schools on weekday afternoons (with the exception of AISD holidays) during the fall and spring semesters. All equipment is provided by NHL.


Time Commitment

  • October through early December, January through June
    • Minimum of 2 practices a week (3:30 PM to 6 PM)
    • 3 Saturdays for games/tournaments
  • Regular communication with a head coach and NHL leadership team

Compensation

Paid and volunteer positions available. $800 for the 2019-2020 school year for qualified applicants.

The assistant coach will be a subcontractor to NHL and will be responsible for withholding taxes. W-9 will be required by successful applicants.

The assistant coach agrees to submit to a background check and to register with US Lacrosse, subsidized by NHL.

George Ranch High School Lacrosse Club Assistant Coach Position

The George Ranch High School Lacrosse Club (www.grhslacrosse.org), is looking for an energetic coach with a strong lacrosse background who wants to teach and mentor young athletes.

George Ranch is a diverse public high school in Fort Bend County with an enrollment of 2,700 students.  In 2019 the club’s varsity team finished with a 15-3 record, had 7 All-District and 2 Honorable Mention player selections, and sent 5 seniors on to play lacrosse at the collegiate level.  The club has a very engaged parent board and support of the school and school district. 

The assistant coach is responsible for supporting the program in all aspects of the development of the team including: practice planning, implementation of game strategies, recruiting players, team management during practices, scrimmages and games.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

The Program Director (full-time) contributes to all aspects of our sports-based youth development programming. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director provides all organizational and logistical direction to year-round programs for more than 500 youth, in the southern sector of Dallas County. Gateway College Preparatory School is a K – 12 public charter school with 1,200 students currently enrolled (350 in high school that will grow to 500) located on 40 acres in Georgetown, TX and just north of Round Rock.   The school has its own synthetic and natural grass lacrosse fields with grandstands.  Gateway does not offer a football program and is totally committed to field lacrosse teams from elementary through high school. The lacrosse coaches only coach lacrosse year round.

The successful candidate must have experience playing lacrosse at the college level or at the high school level for at least three years with prior coaching experience.

Description: McKinney Lacrosse would like to hire a JV assistant coach beginning immediately. The qualified candidate will demonstrate the leader skills along with the lacrosse knowledge to serve as a positive role model to help the development of the program.

New Horizons Lacrosse Coaching Position

Austin-area New Horizons Lacrosse is looking for youth lacrosse coaches for a newly forming 5th/6th grade boys team and a second year “Majors” girls team. These are a paid positions.
Responsibilities include planning and running practices 2/3 times a week during FallBall and 4/5 times a week and games during the season as can be coordinated.
FallBall practices will start ASAP 3:45-5:45 at Martin Middle School.
These teams will be made up of students from Martin and will be supported by New Horizons Lacrosse Fund who seeks to increase diversity and inclusion in our local lacrosse community.

Description of position

Round Rock Youth Lacrosse is Round Rock's only youth lacrosse league.  Our league serves as a feeder program for D1 programs, Round Rock and Cedar Ridge High Schools.  We are also open to players from Pflugerville, Georgetown, Hutto and Taylor.  We continue to see growth with each season.  We had 8 teams last year spanning Kinder - 8th grade within our league: 4 Dragon teams (Round Rock HS feeders) and 4 Raider teams (Cedar Ridge/Stony Point HS feeders). 
 
We are in need of 2-3 coaches.  This is a paid position.  Compensation is dependent on experience level.  Time commitment is 2-3 days of practice in February and once games start first of March - May, practice twice a week.  Games are typically Sunday afternoons - 8 game schedule.  Field availability may dictate an occasional Saturday.  We do have some tournament opportunities as well which will come with additional compensation.  Practices are in Round Rock.  Games are in the Austin and surrounding areas.  We will provide all required equipment and coaching aids as well as coach shirts.

Ideal candidates have  coaching experience at the high school or college level with the ability to teach fundamentals, mentor and motivate high school athletes. The head coach is responsible for all aspects of the program (beginning in the fall) including: practice, planning, game scheduling, implementation of game strategies, team management during practices, scrimmages and games, & awards nominations. Due to job relocation of our current coach, the West Houston Lacrosse Association is in immediate need of a coach for our West Briar Middle School team.   The team consists of 7th and 8th graders playing in their first year of lacrosse.  Requirements include lacrosse playing experience at the high school or preferably college level; coaching experience is preferable; strong leadership; motivational and organizational skills; a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the sport and players. 
The ideal candidate should be interested in building the program and molding individual talent while emphasizing teamwork, fundamentals, good sportsmanship, leadership, and respect.  Candidates are required to administer the program according to the principles and philosophy of the West Houston Lacrosse Association's charter, and in accordance with the rules of the Greater Houston Youth Lacrosse Association.

Westlake High School (WHS) Boy’s Lacrosse is seeking committed coaches for their DI Varsity and JV programs.  WHS Boy’s Lacrosse is a growing program with more than 90 high school players. The feeder program, Westlake Youth Lacrosse League, has more than 350 youth players.  WHS Boy’s Lacrosse strives to compete at the highest level of Texas High School lacrosse, as well as nationally, and were the Texas High School Lacrosse League Central District Champions for 3 consecutive years.

Dripping Springs High School

Assistant JV Coach


Dripping Springs High School is seeking a qualified JV assistant coach. Qualified coaches must have a positive attitude, high lacrosse IQ, and an ability to connect and work with high school athletes. DSHS will compete in the THSLL Central D2 for the 2014-2015 season.

The JV team is coming off a 10-0-1 season with 15+ rising freshman expected to join the roster this season. Our Varsity and JV practice together so our assistant JV coach will have the ability to work with varsity players as well.

Fall practices will be held twice a week beginning October 27th and spring practices will be held 3-4 times a week after 5pm on the DSHS turf field. Games will on Saturday with the occasional week night game.

Some travel will be necessary, but is paid for by the lacrosse club.

The Memorial Boys Lacrosse club is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of head coach for its Division I Varsity Lacrosse program. We are seeking candidates who have solid experience with coaching and program administration at the high school or college level. The successful candidate will be required to serve not only as the head coach of this established program, but also as the primary focal point and liaison with THSLL, other high school coaches and with the youth leagues that feed into Memorial Boy’s Lacrosse program. You will be working with and leading a team of 6-8 coaches and approximately 70 players.

The successful candidate must be a natural communicator who can relate to players from freshman to seniors, as well as with the Memorial Boys Lacrosse Board, parents, other coaches, boosters, the youth lacrosse organization and the high school administration. You will be expected to serve as a role model. We are seeking a coach who can lead by example and demonstrate a positive attitude towards participants in the program and who understands the influence he will have on players.

  5. Leads the players and coaches in developing and instituting game day strategies appropriate to the competition.
  6. With the assistance of the board of directors, schedule games, contests, tournaments and spring break games/events.
  7. Accompanies the team on all out-of-town games and tournaments.
  8. Abides by and enforces applicable polices on tobacco, alcohol and drugs.
  9. Responsible for representing program at THSLL events.
  10. Attends coaches’ meetings when called or scheduled and attends board meetings as appropriate.
  11. Participates in fund raising efforts, outreach to other lacrosse organizations and represents the program at high school events.
  12. Assists and counsels players in the planning and decisions regarding post- high school lacrosse college opportunities to include writing letters of recommendation if requested.
  13. As necessary, provides emergency medical treatment to players and coaches. CPR certification will be required.

Flower Mound Lacrosse (FMLA), home of the 2013 Texas High School DII State Champion Boys & Runner-Up Girls, is seeking part-time lacrosse coaches.

These positions offer applicants competitive compensation (no benefits) and are also opportunities to lead exceptional young men and women who continue to help grow an already successful lacrosse program. Preference will be given to candidates with recent high school and/or collegiate lacrosse playing and coaching experience.

In addition, the successful candidates must have excellent communication, teamwork, lacrosse, and coaching skills. You must be able to work with athletes of all skill levels. Applicants should possess the proper character to serve as a mentor to student-athletes, the demonstrated ability to teach the game of lacrosse, good organizational and written skills, and the interpersonal skills required to serve as a representative of FMLA and the sport of lacrosse. Round Rock is entering its 4th year and seeks to add several additional coaches to its staff. Varsity finished 2013 with a 16-2 record and JV 14-3. St. Mark’s School of Texas, a day school for 852 boys in Dallas, Texas, seeks a Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach. The St. Mark’s program participates in the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC), as well as the Texas High School Lacrosse League (http://www.thsll.org/rules.php).
The successful candidate will report to the Athletic Director in managing the entire lacrosse program, which currently includes a Varsity, Junior Varsity, and two Middle School teams.

Memorial Boys Lacrosse is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of head coach for its Division I varsity program. We are seeking candidates who have solid experience with coaching and program administration at the high school or college level. The successful candidate will be required to serve not only as the head coach of this established program, but also as the primary focal point and liaison with THSLL, other high school coaches and with the youth leagues that feed into Memorial Boy’s Lacrosse program. You will be working with and leading a team of 6-8 coaches. This is a part time seasonal position.

The successful candidate must be a natural communicator who can relate to players from freshman to graduates, as well as with the Memorial Boys Lacrosse Board, parents, other coaches, boosters, the youth lacrosse organization and the high school administration. You will be expected to serve as a role model. We are seeking a coach who can lead by example and
demonstrate a positive attitude towards participants in the program and who understands the influence he will have on players.
Coaches are evaluated annually not only on their knowledge of the game, but also based upon these skills. Preferred applicants will have a bachelor’s degree and familiarity with UIL and THSLL policies.
Essential Duties Include:
1. Teaches and coaches the fundamentals of lacrosse, good sportsmanship, leadership, fair play, the importance of academics, and relates to and inspires confidence in students.
2. Works with the board of directors in the organization and development of a top tier program with a qualified coaching staff.

4. Supervises regular practice sessions and games and is responsible for the conduct of participants and coaches at practices, games (before, during and after), and while traveling as a member of the team.
5. Leads the players and coaches in developing and instituting game day strategies appropriate to the competition.
6. Leads the board of directors in scheduling games, contests,tournaments and spring break games/events.
7. Accompanies the team on all out-of-town games and tournaments.
8. Abides by and enforces applicable polices on tobacco, alcohol and drugs.
9. Responsible for representing program at THSLL events.
10. Attends coaches’ meetings when called or scheduled and attends board meetings as appropriate.
11. Participates in fund raising efforts, outreach to other lacrosse organizations and represents the program at high school events.
12. Assists and counsels players in the planning and decisions regarding post- high school lacrosse college opportunities to include writing letters of recommendation if requested.
13. As necessary, provides emergency medical treatment to players and coaches. CPR certification will be required.

Westlake Boys Youth Lacrosse services youth primarily feeding into Westlake High School (Austin, TX) and is one of the largest youth lacrosse associations in Texas, fielding 20+ boys spring league teams from grades 1-8 and also fielding fall/summer travel teams. Lovejoy Leopards Lacrosse is seeking a Head Coach who will oversee the entire lacrosse program located in the Lovejoy ISD (Fairview/Lucas/Allen) area. Lovejoy competes in the North Texas High School Lacrosse League moving into Division II of independent schools in Texas and provides a complete youth (1st – 8th) and high school varsity and junior varsity program.

Requirements:

Austin-area New Horizons Lacrosse is looking for a youth Head Coach for a newly forming 5th/6th grade boys team.
This team will be made up of students from inner-city schools in under-served areas in Austin, and will be supported by New Horizons Lacrosse Fund. 20 boys are currently registered and meet each week on Sunday 2-4p for practice at Martin Middle School. Georgetown Lacrosse is seeking two experienced and highly dedicated coaches to help bring our program to the next level. Competing in the Central Texas Division II, we are entering our fourth year as a high school program. The new youth feeder system has over fifty players registered in the first year, and we are expecting the numbers at both the high school and feeder program to combine for over 150 total players in the 2013 season.

The ideal candidates will have lacrosse experience playing and/or coaching at the high school or college level; possess strong player development, communication, and have a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the sport and players. The coaches must be able to effectively motivate and develop both the novice and experienced player, be able to attract new athletes to the sport, and be available for all scheduled practices and games. Coaches will be compensated monthly over the course of the fall/spring seasons and is very competitive.

Austin area New Horizons Lacrosse is looking for a youth Head Coach for a newly forming 5th/6th grade boys team.
This team will be made up of students from under-served areas in Austin  inner-city schools and supported by New Horizons Lacrosse. Informal Fall Ball will begin in late October and end in early December. Regular season starts in February and includes practices and competition in the Central Texas Youth Lacrosse League (CTYLA). This is a paid position and responsibilities include twice a week practice and game/practice on the weekends in the spring.

Vandegrift High School - Leander ISD; Austin, TX

Vandegrift High School is in Leander ISD. The Vipers play in the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) Central Division as a D2 team. It is an established program reaching the playoffs the last two seasons.

Vandegrift is looking for experienced lacrosse players/coaches to work with its growing JV program and help develop the program as we will have 2 JV teams for the 2013 season. The program has a very dedicated board and a solid tradition of lacrosse at the youth level with nearly 300 players with a solid base of good players feeding into the high school.

Coaching and/or playing experience is required. We are looking for someone to help develop the players in a positive way and grow the sport and program. Administrative duties include working with the board, team practices, scheduling games. These are paid positions through the parents' booster club. Salary: To be determined.

Appointment: Part-Time, the season runs November through May with some additional administrative responsibilities in the off season. Candidates must pass a LISD mandated background check and adhere to Coaches Code of conduct.

McNeil Maverick Varsity Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach

McNeil Mavericks Lacrosse is accepting applications a Varsity Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach. Since then the sport has grown exponentially, offering developmental and competitive programs for youth boys in kindergarten through High School, at the most competitive levels.  This includes teaching individual fundamental skills, the essentials of team play, proper physical conditioning, a competitive atmosphere, and most importantly, good sportsmanship.  Through our coaching staff and volunteers, the Maverick lacrosse program fosters the MOTTO CCB Character, Commitment, and Brotherhood!!

Position: Varsity Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach
Season: Fall 2019/Spring 2020 with multi-year opportunity
District/Division: Central District / Division 2

Qualifications: 

  1. Previous coaching and/or playing Lacrosse at the High School level
  2. Knowledge of THSLL rules and regulations.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed to develop and maintain positive, respectful relationships with student-athletes.

  4. Develop team practice plans and competition strategies including off season strength training.
  5. Represent the men’s lacrosse program at various community events.
  6. Be a positive, but firm role model to all players, instilling self-discipline on and off the field.
  7. Communicate, implement, and enforce player code of conduct.
  8. Communicate effectively and collaborate with players, parents, & the Maverick Board on program development, scheduling, player recruitment, volunteer support, player discipline, and program policies.
  9. Comply with league rules and maintain a positive working relationship with the league.
  10. Be visible, accessible, and supportive of the Youth Lacrosse coaches, players, and program (K-8th grade) .
  11. Foster open communication and growth plans with players to build an outstanding program to continue the “Great Legacy of McNeil Lacrosse”!
  12. Offer and support recruiting opportunities for interested and eligible student-athletes in pursuit of their goals to play lacrosse at the collegiate level.

The Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association (SCLA) is seeking High School Assistant Coaches & Youth Head Coaches for the fall of 2020 and spring of 2021. Looking for energetic coaches with a strong lacrosse background and acumen, who want to teach and mentor young athletes, and contribute to the growth of the SCLA lacrosse program.

Essential Functions:

  • Fall program: 3x week beginning in 2nd week of September for 7 weeks

  • Game day planning and management.
  • Assist the head coach in all aspects of the program during practice and game day
