Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse Coaching Openings Posted on September 12, 2022 Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse - Youth Head Coaches Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse Association is seeking 2 boys youth lacrosse coaches for the 2023 Spring and Fall seasons. We are seeking energetic coaches with a strong knowledge of lacrosse, skill development, and coaching techniques as well as a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire young athletes. In particular, we are looking for a candidate that is positive minded and encouraging that can serve as a role model. Founded in 2009 with a team of 20 boys, Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse has grown to over 150 boys and girls, grades K thru 12. Serving the greater Fort Worth area as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse is committed to providing an opportunity for all youth to experience, learn, and play the great game of lacrosse. Our goal is to give each athlete the opportunity to play, enjoy and excel to the best growth and development of their stage of the game. The city of Fort Worth (population 892,000) is home to the Panther City Lacrosse Club from the NLL, the only professional lacrosse franchise in the state of Texas. This has driven a significant interest in lacrosse in the city and an opportunity to grow the youth program. We feel strongly that there is a significant opportunity to wake a sleeping giant of lacrosse here with the right coaches. The Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse board is committed to supporting our coaches and providing all the resources necessary. Positions available: 2 Head Coach positions 5/6th grade Head Coach 7/8th grade Head Coach Essential Functions: Represent the Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse program and the sport of lacrosse in a positive and respectful manner at any and all events and gatherings. Act as a role model and foster an environment of respect, tolerance, integrity, and sportsmanship. Be prepared and punctual for all coaching responsibilities. Manage game day logistics: lineups, substitutions, strategy. Develop and implement daily practice plans to effectively motivate and train athletes. Work with boys program director and other youth coaches to ensure consistent methodology across youth teams. Appointment: Annual (2022-2023) contingent upon renewal Spring program: beginning in early January 2023 and ends late April 2023 (approximately 3-4 events per week) Fall program: mid-September 2023 to November 2023 (1-2 events per week on weekend). Fort Worth Country Day Lacrosse Coaching Openings Posted on June 05, 2022 Fort Worth Country Day Lacrosse Fort Worth Country Day’s Athletic Department is seeking several seasonal coaches for the 2022-2023 school year. Reporting directly to the Program Directors and also to the Director of Athletics, the seasonal coaches must model integrity, have a strong work ethic, and be fully committed to the growth and development of our student-athletes Boys Lacrosse Assistant Coach - High School May include serving as the Head JV Lacrosse coach, depending on numbers. The school participates in both Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) Class C and the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC). Playing experience beyond high school and experience coaching at the high school level is preferred. The season begins in early February and goes through late April/early May. Practices are scheduled from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm during the week with JV and Varsity. Number of games may vary each week. School provides transportation to all away games via team bus or charter bus. Coaches are expected to be at practice 30 minutes before practices and a half hour before games. There will be some weekends that are required to play games. Will be traveling outside of the DFW metroplex to play games and will also have some overnight trips to play other teams in Texas. Duties include: running drills effectively, keeping players focused at practice, run the substitution box effectively at games, breaking down game film and assist in scouting and game-planning. Boys Lacrosse Assistant Coach - Middle School 7th/8th Grade Program looking to add another coach to assist with the middle school team(s) The school participates in the Dallas Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse. Round Rock Youth Posted on November 21, 2015 Round Rock Youth Lacrosse is Round Rock's only youth lacrosse league. Our league serves as a feeder program for D1 programs, Round Rock and Cedar Ridge High Schools. We are also open to players from Pflugerville, Georgetown, Hutto and Taylor. We continue to see growth with each season. We had 8 teams last year spanning Kinder - 8th grade within our league: 4 Dragon teams (Round Rock HS feeders) and 4 Raider teams (Cedar Ridge/Stony Point HS feeders). We are in need of 2-3 coaches. We are seeking candidates who have solid experience with coaching and program administration at the high school or college level. The successful candidate will be required to serve not only as the head coach of this established program, but also as the primary focal point and liaison with THSLL, other high school coaches and with the youth leagues that feed into Memorial Boy’s Lacrosse program. You will be working with and leading a team of 6-8 coaches and approximately 70 players. The successful candidate must be a natural communicator who can relate to players from freshman to seniors, as well as with the Memorial Boys Lacrosse Board, parents, other coaches, boosters, the youth lacrosse organization and the high school administration. You will be expected to serve as a role model. We are seeking a coach who can lead by example and demonstrate a positive attitude towards participants in the program and who understands the influence he will have on players. Coaches are evaluated annually not only on their knowledge of the game, but also based upon the above skills. Preferred applicants will have a bachelor’s degree, a pedigree in lacrosse and willingness to become familiar with UIL and THSLL policies. Essential Duties Include: Teach and coach the varsity to play at the highest levels of D1 lacrosse in Texas. Direct the JV coaches to teach the fundamentals of lacrosse to prepare them to excel at the next level. The head coach will be responsible for instilling good sportsmanship, leadership, fair play, the importance of academics to the players and be able to relate and inspire confidence in students. Works with the board of directors in the organization and development of a top tier program with a qualified coaching staff. Organizes initial and ongoing team meetings and establishes team rules, procedures, and policies and consistently and fairly monitors and enforces the same. Supervises regular practice sessions and games and is responsible for the conduct of participants and coaches at practices, games (before, during and after), and while traveling as a member of the team. Leads the players and coaches in developing and instituting game day strategies appropriate to the competition. With the assistance of the board of directors, schedule games, contests, tournaments and spring break games/events. Accompanies the team on all out-of-town games and tournaments. Abides by and enforces applicable polices on tobacco, alcohol and drugs. Responsible for representing program at THSLL events. Attends coaches’ meetings when called or scheduled and attends board meetings as appropriate. Participates in fund raising efforts, outreach to other lacrosse organizations and represents the program at high school events. Assists and counsels players in the planning and decisions regarding post- high school lacrosse college opportunities to include writing letters of recommendation if requested. As necessary, provides emergency medical treatment to players and coaches. CPR certification will be required. This team will be made up of students from under-served areas in Austin inner-city schools and supported by New Horizons Lacrosse. Informal Fall Ball will begin in late October and end in early December. Regular season starts in February and includes practices and competition in the Central Texas Youth Lacrosse League (CTYLA). The Vipers play in the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) Central Division as a D2 team. It is an established program reaching the playoffs the last two seasons.
