Katy High School is a school stout with tradition and pride as concerns all the athletic programs and we are excited to be adding a new team to the TIGERS lineup. The Katy Lacrosse Club! We are searching for a Head Coach for the new Katy Lacrosse Team. This team's player boundaries will target Katy High School and a strong team of parents are well underway organizing the team administratively. We have the approval of the District Athletic Director to establish this team with the understanding that it will consist mainly of players from Katy High School. The Director gave us permission to apply for practice fields at a Jr High School, of which we requested Katy Jr High at Franz Rd and Katy Ft Bend Rd. Parents have formed a Board, developed a budget (including a 9 month salary for a Head Coach), have all documentation for Team Registration Packet, and are working on papers for a 501c3 status. We have also established a basic website for now...to be upgraded after the team roster is established. It is www.lacrosseatkaty.com - please visit it and view all page contents. We intend to hold Open Registration on at least 3 dates in mid-September to see the absolute interest and develop the team roster. Team dues will be $200. and parents will be responsible beyond that to pay for uniforms and personal player equipment. This is a great opportunity to impact the sport of lacrosse in Katy, as this will be the third High School team established in the area, and other schools are already talking about adding a team in the future!
