#1 Highland Park controlled the pace and tempo of their Boys DI State Championship Semi-final game at Dragon Stadium in South Lake, Texas. #4 Episcopal of Houston ended their season with a sub-par performance and were defeated 7-13.
#3 St. Mary’s Hall dominated #2 St. John’s in the other Semi-final game held in the afternoon. Leading at the half by 6, St. Mary’s continued their intense play into the second half and defeated St. John’s 12-8.

After a tightly contested first quarter that ended 1-1, Highland Park pulled away from St. Mary’s Hall in the second quarter of the Championship game and never looked back. St. Mary’s, with noticeably fewer players on the sidelines, struggled to keep in step with top ranked Highland Park and were defeated 4-14 to become the THSLL 2004 State Championship Runner-Up.
Congratulations to St. Mary’s Hall for their victory in the semi-finals and for another fine season.
