Vandegrift High School - Leander ISD; Austin, TX
Vandegrift High School is in Leander ISD. The Vipers play in the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) Central Division as a D2 team. It is an established program reaching the playoffs the last two seasons.
Vandegrift is looking for experienced lacrosse players/coaches to work with its growing JV program and help develop the program as we will have 2 JV teams for the 2013 season. The program has a very dedicated board and a solid tradition of lacrosse at the youth level with nearly 300 players with a solid base of good players feeding into the high school.
Coaching and/or playing experience is required. We are looking for someone to help develop the players in a positive way and grow the sport and program. Administrative duties include working with the board, team practices, scheduling games. These are paid positions through the parents' booster club. Salary: To be determined.
Appointment: Part-Time, the season runs November through May with some additional administrative responsibilities in the off season. Candidates must pass a LISD mandated background check and adhere to Coaches Code of conduct.

Duties include:
· Develop and coach players in order to advance to the varsity level including but not limited to: fundamentals of catching, scooping, throwing, shooting and passing. Teach offensive and defensive formations (1-4-1, 2-3-1 or 2-2-2, EMO and MDD slide package)
· Compile players’ statistics and information
· Assist with set up of practice and game schedule for Junior Varsity.
· Assist with grading progress reports sheets
· Monitor practice attendance; communicate with assistant coaches
· Oversee “Code of Conduct†compliance
· Attend scheduled Booster Club Meetings.
· Attend various coaching meetings if necessary (State Meeting, District Meeting)
· Incorporate coaching philosophy for team unity and preparation for varsity level play
